Three Top Benefits of a Trane Multi-Zone Ductless System

by | Jun 7, 2018 | HVAC Blog

Ductless heating and air conditioning systems offer a number of benefits. A ductless system provides heating and cooling solutions for homeowners who don’t want to deal with the hassle of a system that needs ducts to be installed. Zoned units allow individual temperature control for a room or specific areas instead of circulating conditioned air at a single temperature setting throughout your entire Green Valley home.

Trane is an industry leader in heating and cooling, offering technologically advanced climate control solutions for homes and businesses. Here are three benefits of choosing a Trane multi-zone ductless system:

Simple Installation

As the name suggests, there are no ducts with mini-split systems. Indoor blower cassettes are connected to an outdoor compressor by tubing that contains refrigerant lines, condensate lines and electrical wiring. The tubing is routed through a small hole in the wall. Blower units can be installed on the wall, floor or ceiling. The outdoor compressor can be as much as 50 feet away from the indoor unit. Trane’s multi-zone ductless system connects up to five indoor units to a single compressor.

Precision Temperature Control

Each indoor blower unit has its own temperature control. If one family member likes a cold living room but you like a warm bedroom, no problem. Temperatures in each room can be set independently. Units are operated by a remote control. Digital temperature settings allow precise temperature control. When a room is not in use, the unit can be switched off.

Energy Efficient

According to Energy Star, ducts lose approximately 30 percent of the conditioned air that moves through them because of leaks and poorly connected ducts. Ductless units do not lose any conditioned air. In addition, new technology is more energy efficient. Ductless mini-split heat pumps use 60 percent less energy to heat than standard electric home heating units.
